Led enhanced hokey puck  II

Design a new version of the led enhanced hokey puck. To improve  the impact resistance and operation at low temperature modify the LED connection, implement a LiFePo4 battery and replacing the inertial / cap sensor control with a magnetic control.  The board is subject of high g-forces ranging between 500-1000 g.

Power Switch

Design of custom specified power switch.

The design include schematic, PCB, firmware and prototyping.

The board include a push button, 3 bicolor LED, low power LDO for the uC, battery monitoring and 3 A MOSFET switch.

The switch operate in different modes. the modes are determined by the press duration. The bicolor LED provide up to 5 well readable status levels.

The microcontroller stay in sleep state reducing the drain current from the battery.

Airsoft Rifle Trigger

August, 2021

Design of first stage of Airsoft rifle electronic trigger.

Design and build of a PCB including step up DC-DC convertor and solenoid switch, and integrating it with Arduino Nano and LCD display.

On the board we have an Arduino Nano header, 6 to 90 V /0.5 A DC/DC convertor, a 3000 uF capacitor, bank solenoid switch rated for up to 380 A pulse current, power supply for pressure sensor.

The DC/DC convertor voltage is controlled over SPI.

After concept prove the Arduino module will be replaced with on board uC and added BT connectivity to a mobile application.

Photo Camera Trigger

The device detect direction, speed and size of object passing trough a IR beam sensors and based on the settings generate a sequence of focus/shot signals to a photo camera.

Device is build from 3 boards :

Battery powered transmitter power supply , a DC-DC step up convertor providing 13 V DC to the beam transmitters.

Receiver front end, it distribute the DC power from the control unit, and transmit the sensors signals over RS485. The board include a DC-DC step down converter to power the RS485 circuit.

Controller unit, including the processor, DC-DC step up converter to power the sensors and DC-DC step down converter for the uC and other circuitry.

The project include both electrical, firmware and mechanical design.

Because the design is not intendent for regular production a standard enclosures was used.

All enclosures and connectors are IP67 that allowing device to be operated outside in harsh environment.

A custom display bezel, dial knob, button knob and PCB spacers was designed and produced using 3d printing.

The enclosures and panels are all machined and painted.
